Lowestoft plays temporary home in the spring & summer to many pairs of Kittiwakes.
They arrive in early March to breed. The rest of the autumn and winter is spent at sea.
One of the true "sea" birds these small gulls have to nest high up & near to the sea, making Lowestofts piers & harbour ideal for breeding.
Lowestoft is now one of the most southerly breeding sites for these amazing birds.
