Lake Lothing

Lake Lothing is a stretch of water that flows from Lowestoft Harbour bridge all the way through to Oulton Broad.

Part of this water is salty, it then becomes brackish and eventually fresh as it reaches further inland.

It is also affected by the tides, so at sometimes of day the water levels can be quite low or high. Don't worry tho, you won't get "cut off" by the tides!

Lake Lothing isn't as easy to get to as Leathes Ham, but the best way to access it is to head towards Normanston Park, and then when you arrive there ask directions towards Lake Lothing.

Lake Lothing is a good place to see the more common waders such as Redshanks, however it does attract seasonal specialties such as Shags and Black Throated Divers.

Here are a few pictures of birds that I have taken alongside Lake Lothing.

Ringed Plover
