Lowestoft North Denes & Beach

Lowestoft North Denes & Beach are situated at the north of Lowestoft.

It is an area made up of scrubland, beach and sea wall. Some of this area used to be a mobile trailer park, but this was recently shut down, and now the area seems to be at the mercy of nature. It does provide excellent habitat for migrant birds such as Stonechat, Wheatear and Whinchat. Unfortunately though it does look like a run down urban slum, which I find quite sad, as it is such a peaceful area.

It is also a favourite spot for local dog walkers, so do look where you're stepping!

The Denes stretch up to an area called Gunton, where the North Beach continues, and the habitat changes to woodland, bracken and dune land.

Here are a few pictures from this area.
