The Orwell Bridge

The Orwell Bridge first opened in 1982. It is a road bridge, and carries traffic across the River Orwell on the A14.

The bridge is nearly 30 years old now & is Suffolks highest structure

However, it is underneath the bridge that you need to look!

The tidal River Orwell is a host to many species of wader, diver and gull, as well as seals!

Peregrine Falcons are nesting here again for the first time in over 200 years and patrol the area looking for food.

Parking is very easy, and a short footpath will lead you under the bridge.
