I would love to get into digiscoping but I I have not got a clue. I have a rspb hd scope but I have  lumix bridge camera. I am wanting to upgrade my camera to dslr one, maybe a Nikon. Question. Can a adaptor be purchased to fit my scope and what camera would anyone recommend. Any thoughts?

Hi there,

Thanks for your post!

I'm fairly sure there is no dslr adapter for th RSPB/Viking spotters. Is yours an HD 82.

Viking have just released a smartphone adapter that may help you, but let me know and I can advise you more.

As for dslr digiscoping I think you'd have to consider different equipment.

There would be options with universal "clamp" style adapter for a small compact camera but these would hinder use of any zoom on your scopes eyepiece.

sorry that I can't be more positive!

regards

Danny

It is interesting, all the different scopes that are out there.

I guess I am just unaware of all the options that are really out there.

I hope you do find an adapter that will allow you to do some digiscoping.

If you like the rewards that come with giving youself a challenge, you will like digiscoping.

I hope it wirks out for you.

HI

it is a hd52,it's a great spotter, but sounds like I maybe limited in my attempts to use it for digiscoping! I do have a small compact camera, a Casio exilim, but sounds like the clamp option may not be an option.
