Many different sites offer different ideas on set ups, but what are the best cameras to use?

Have you had any disasters or got amazing results?

The Fuji S5700 is not a good camera for digiscoping.

The massive zoom on the camera just doesn't allow any light into the camera, and any focusing becomes extremelly difficult.

The Canon S70 is quite ideal for Digiscoping. It is an old model and if I had the money I would go for the Canon S90. Why? because of the image stabilization. I am not saying don't try the S70 but if you see it cheap it would be a great starter for a camera with full manual settings!!.

Down side is that it does drain the batteries so it would be better if you bought a spare and also the LCD screen does not do any justice when viewing.

Here are some results from the S70

A dunnock taken in cloudy conditions.

A green woodpecker taken in full sunlight.

but again I would get up to date as I can't see the S90 being any worse just updated!
