|Forum Home > Digiscoping Equipment > Panasonic compact, Swarovski telescope combination.|
Hi, I would like to share my experience as a new recruit to the world of digiscoping of a compact camera/scope combination that is easy to use and gives in my opinion very good results.
Having tried other camera/scope combinations with little or no success I visited a shop in Bath where the staff showed me how simple it was to get excellent results using the Panasonic Lumix TZ8 compact camera and my Swarovski 65HD telescope.
More by fate than design the extended lens of the camera fits perfectly into the extended eyerelief ring of the Swarovski telescope, making taking pictures very easy.
I use the Swarovski 25/50 wide angle lens, which has excellent light gathering properties.
The steps I use to take a picture are,
Focus the scope on the target, hold the camera to the extended eyepiece, zoom back to eliminate vignetting, with the camera set to macro zoom, take the shot.
Judge the result for yourself on Dannys gallery,
All the best Gary.
