Hi all,

I have an old Kowa TS-602 spotting scope, and was wondering what the best fitting would be, to enable me to attach a Nikon D40 or D60 DSLR?

Ideally i would prefer to fit the camera body directly into where the scope eye peice would go, if possible.  Alternatively, i do have a x30 eyepiece for the scope, so maybe a fitting to attach the camera to that?

Hi Den,

Good to meet you!

Take a look HERE

Scroll down and you will come to the section for  DSLR adapters.

I believe the one on the right  (TSN-PA2) is designed to work with the 600 series of Kowa scopes. It is a dedicated adapter so it will take the place of the scopes eyepiece.

It looks like a nice adapter, but because of the smaller objective lens on your scope the set up would work at around f12-f13, which isn't great.

You will also need a Nikon T2 adapter to join your camera  to the adapter.

I believe this would be the best way to connect your camera to your scope. There is an alternative solution, where you connect the camera to an adapter that fits over the eyepiece, but this method means that even less light will pass through to your camera, which isn't good.

I hope this helps & thanks for your question.

Best wishes,

Danny
