Thanks Terry,
The Kittiwakes still return to the Claremont Pier and harbour. Once you are set up send some pictures in! You'll need a Canon EOS T2 adapter to join your camera to your TLS APO (Swarovski don't supply this) Good luck, Regards, Danny.
Hi Danny ,I think your site is really helpful,I used to live in Carlton Cloville so now your area well ,Are the kittiwakes still on the building opposite the fishdock entrance?.I joined up because I am just in the process of buying an STX85 with all the dings to go with my Canon 50d ,which I might have to upgrade for the 60d to video. Many thanks for the service it is much appreciated.Terry
Hi there,
You will have a choice as to how you connect your camera to the adapter. If you choose to use the 18-55mm lens then you will need a stepping ring to attach the lens to the the adapter. I think the 18-55mm lens has a 58mm filter thread, so you would need a 58-42mm step down ring. Personally I think using a lens reduces the light to much so I would use a direct connection which is adapter to T2 ring to camera body. Thats how I connect my DSLR. I hope this helps, Regards, Danny
can I assume then that the ring will fit on to the 18-55 lens that the camera came with and not the 55-300. How does it know what size lens I have?
Whoop! After an hour and a half of trawling the internet and making phone calls I have finally located the DCA adapter - in Bristol!! Should be delivered before the end of the week along with a T2 ring. Just hope that when it arrives I can work out how to fit it !
Hi thanks. I had already looked at digiscope diary before I found you! It lookes like I'll be able to get the adapter and the ring from the first link you gave. Is that all I need?
Thanks Danny. Only just about to start out. Got my scope last Monday and already ahve 2 reasonably good cameras. Hoping to go to Viking in Halesworth tomorrow to see what is available. was hoping to get some tips on here and look at other peoples photos. I have an Olivon 90mm 22-68x and my cameras are Nikon D3100 and Canon Powershot sx30is. Hopoing the man in the shop will be able to advise. I do think the stupid automatic focus on the Canon will be a problem - that was the reason I bought the Nikon!
