Juvenile Glaucous Gull
During November 2013 a Juv Glaucous Gull was found at Hamilton Dock, at the end of Hamilton Road, Lowestoft.
Known as one of the "White Winged" gulls because of its white primary feathers this bird has shown at some incredibly close ranges.
Sitting still really helped. Bobbing up & down on the sea makes focussing difficult (the bird, not me lol!)
Head on. Waited for the head to turn into the light for the eye glint.
My first decent portrait. Only took 1000 shots (not joking either!)
A bit of a silhouette, but this clearly shows the white primaries. So pure, its stunning!
